Our senior emergency specialist doctors (FACEMs) support school staff and nurses by working closely with them as medical emergency consultants. We can help provide rapid diagnosis and treatment of students, prescribe medication, arrange patient transport or specialist referrals, and provide post-consultation event summaries for parents, the school's medical team, guardians and family GPs. It will also be added to the student’s My Health Record if they have consented, to ensures continuity of care. Our emergency doctors act as a seamless part of the school custodial team.
As the most senior of emergency specialists, our consulting emergency physicians at My Emergency Doctor (MED) are trained to make important critical decisions - all are Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMS), registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and go through a rigorous selection and credentialing process.
Additionally, they provide consultations under a robust clinical governance framework, including monthly case study reviews, performance management and independent external reviews.
