Ambulance Tasmania partnering with My Emergency Doctor for Secondary Triage.

Ambulance Tasmania has teamed up with My Emergency Doctor (MED) to support ambulance phone operators and paramedics with access to one of Australia’s largest pool of senior emergency specialist doctors.

“The secondary triage service is a critical component in alleviating ambulance ramping and crowding pressures in the hospital emergency departments,” Founder, Dr Justin Bowra said. “We’re proud to assist in this important function with Ambulance Tasmania”

“Our emergency physicians are all Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMs). Their skills and training know how can help other paramedics, nurses, doctors and patients when they need it.”

From rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients, prescribing medication, arranging referrals to specialists for select cases, to offering advice and support for on-field paramedics, My Emergency Doctor’s Secondary Triage can offer reassurance to patients and ambulance service teams alike.

With telemedicine access to FACEM-led care, emergency services can now have the back-up they need through My Emergency Doctor — minimising unnecessary ambulance call-outs and hospital admissions.
