Pilot program launches at MDHS to make specialist doctors available after hours

Central Goldfields Shire residents are in safer hands than ever with specialist emergency doctors soon to be available after hours at Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS).

Launched at the Maryborough hospital yesterday and officially starting next Monday, the new After Hours Telehealth Pilot is a video- call based service which will be used by urgent care centre staff in the after hours period via the MED app on a smart phone or tablet.

The app gives immediate access to a team of emergency specialists who can remotely assess, diagnose and arrange treatment for patients outside of regular operating hours.
